No, you cannot display images larger than the dimensions of the DataPlayer itself, but you can use an external web page URL that includes the user-selected image reference from your data. Under Set up Details and Links, choose Use external web page for details.

Why can’t I show more, higher-quality images in DataPlayers embedded in documents?

It is not possible to put a separate folder of images into a document. If you would like larger, zooming images to be available when users filter, consider putting your data and images into printable (and portable) Omniscope .IOK files, instead of DataPlayers. Recipients of your files will need only the free Omniscope Viewer to fully experience your file, with zooming, re-sizable images etc.

A: The main difference involves images. DataPlayers embedded in documents include only the thumbnail images used in a Tile or Table View. DataPlayers displayed on the web can also use larger, higher-resolution images for display in the Details window. These images are uploaded to the web server along with the DataPlayer files. Zooming re-sizing images are not possible in DataPlayers. If you prefer Tile or Table views where the size of the images increases or decreases automatically as the user filters, you should consider also making the original Omniscope .IOK/.IOM working file available as a download for users.

A. There is no fixed upper limit on the number of records (rows) you may put into a DataPlayer. The limit depends on many factors specific to each data set. A data set with up to 5-10,000 records (rows) and 10 fields (columns) will normally load and perform well in a DataPlayer. Using larger data sets is possible, but even some smaller ones may not load (if the data set contains very long text values, for example) and some larger data sets could experience performance problems on slower machines. The best way to determine how a very large data set will display and perform on both publisher and user machines is to use the Omniscope 30-day free trial period to make large test DataPlayers using your data.

Each year the same thing happens to millions of parents, when they have to tell their little one that “Santa didn’t have time to deliver this year”. Instead of running around like a headless chicken trying to find that special toy during the Christmas rat race, why not shop early and take a look at some of the most in-demand toys for Christmas 2008.

Basically there are 10 toys that are going to be hard to find by the time Christmas comes, so shop early for the best selection of Christmas gifts in 2008.

Toy Number 1

The Nintendo Wii

Nintendo’s Wii video game system (pronounced “we”) is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together–whether they’re in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system’s name reflects this simple idea. It’s easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii’s intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.

Toy Number 2

The Wii Fit
Wii Fit is designed to be enjoyed by the whole family. In Japan it has been encouraging family members as a whole to discuss the topic of fitness and take an active interest in understanding their own fitness in a fun and entertaining way, all in the comfort of their own home.
Wii Fit comes bundled with the Wii Balance Board, an accessory developed exclusively for the Wii console that will have a far-reaching impact for all who use it. It’s innovative, exciting and most of all fun and simple for all to use. It is a pressure sensitive, wireless balance board that goes on the floor - so someone can stand on it in front of the TV. It senses weight and shift in balance in any direction and therefore by standing on the Wii Balance Board during activities allows players to follow along to movements ensuring they have full control of the on-screen activities. This allows personal improvement goals to be set to effectively help you and your family to train and stay fit.
Toy Number 3

The Nintendo DS

Sleek black and white may have been the must-have look this summer, but now it’s all about pink as the hugely successful Nintendo DS Lite turns pink. Nintendo’s latest console includes all the existing features of the Nintendo DS, yet includes a variety of distinctive changes which truly sets it apart from other handheld consoles. Nintendo DS Lite retains the advanced touch screen technology, allowing players to control the software with a stylus or even their finger, as well as dual screens, voice recognition and Wi-Fi capabilities of the Nintendo DS but is now both smaller and lighter. Weighing nearly 60g less than the original, it is just two thirds of the original size. The redesign isn’t only cosmetic though, the Nintendo DS Lite features adjustable screen brightness with four settings, a repositioned microphone for ease of use and a larger and more comfortable stylus. With its new design and unique features, this console is perfect for everyone regardless of age, gender and gaming skills.

Toy Number 4

Sony Playstation 3

The PS3 features IBM’s “Cell” processor and a co-developed Nvidia graphics processor that makes the system able to perform two trillion calculations per second. That makes the PlayStation 3 40 times faster than the PS2. Along with the traditional AV and composite connections, it also boasts an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port, which delivers uncompressed, unconverted digital picture and sound to compatible high-definition TV and projectors. The system is capable of 128-bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution for a full HD experience. This console also provides for a sound experience by supporting Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, as well as Linear PCM 7.1. A pre-installed 40 GB hard disc drive allows you to save games as well as download content from the internet. Unlike the other models of the PlayStation 3, the 40GB does not offer backwards compatibility.

Toy Number 5

Xbox 360

In comparison to the Darth Vader inspired design of the original Xbox, the Xbox 360 a thing of (near) wondrous beauty.
In addition to playing games and movies, the Xbox 360 can stream music and video from a wide variety of electronic devices, including iPods and the Sony PSP.

Toy Number 6

Sony PSP

All other portable consoles seem like chess to this. what is the point of making them. The PSP slim and lite has out classed the original and out classed all other portable devices. You can even get satnavs now for PSP! FANTASTIC!!!

Toy Number 7

Lego Mind Storm

Build-your-own Star Wars droids with the Droid Developer Kit. If you have ever wanted your own R2D2, now’s your chance. With a little time and patience you can create a droid that can be programmed to do what you want it to.
At the heart of the Droid Developer Kit is a small, intelligent brain called the Micro Scout. This minute computer can react to light, has a motor to bring movement and has seven pre-programmed routines as well as a programmable option via your PC. If R2D2 is not your ideal choice of robot then you can build one of the two other droids in the pack: L-3GO Training Droid or the Jedi Knight Droid.

Toy Number 8

Silverlit PicooZ Twin Blade 3 Channel Helicopter

Be warned. This is no ordinary radio controlled helicopter. This is the TandemZ. A full three channel, auto stable system with twin propellers and an advanced multi-role set-up that requires skill, brains and determination to master. In appearance, the TandemZ closely resembles the iconic Sea Knight Helicopter, a vehicle famed for its assault transportation of combat troops and its ability to land on aircraft carriers. The twin propeller system is a striking feature of this unique style of helicopter, and providing greater stability, greater control and added power when airborne. With the TandemZ being a full 3 channel radio controlled unit, users are able to control the flight altitude, forwards and backwards movement and the direction of flight. Easier said than done. The handheld control unit (which doubles as the charging base for the TandemZ) is more complex than the standard R/C chopper, incorporating controls for Yaw trimming (direction), Pitch trimming (hovering angle), Throttle (altitude), Direction (forward/backward movement) and an additional headlight switch for flying in the dark. With guidance from the instruction booklet and a little practice, users will quickly appreciate the added control that the TandemZ offers and once mastered, can attempt more challenging stunts than ever before.

Toy Number 9

Speed Racer & Snake Oiler

Chase the robbers in the air and catch them at sea. This police seaplane is perfect for difficult police missions. Open the side door, take your seat, spin propellers and get ready for takeoff! Total wing span 40 cm/ 15.7 inches. Includes one police pilot.

And Finally - Toy Number 10

Original Rubix Cube

One of the most famous toys in history, Rubik’s Cube is the incredibly addictive, multi-dimensional challenge that has fascinated fans since it arrived in 1980. Over “43 Quintillion” (that’s 43 with 18 zeros to you and me) moves are possible with this original 3×3 Cube, but there is only one solution! A must for puzzle lovers, the aim is to twist and turn the Rubik’s Cube to return it to its original state, with every side having one solid colour. For those who struggle to master this challenge - or simply lack the patience - the enclosed guide provides the simplest ever 7-step Rubik’s Cube solution and introduces a number of other fantastic games to play. So, whether you’re into simple siding or prefer a spot of classic cubing, hours of challenging fun lie ahead.

Sometime ago I had came across this site that claimed to give away free gaming systems along with other stuff. Skeptical as I was, I as a little tired of the B.S. surrounding sites like this but noticed that this one in particular had a different concept to it. Not only does this one go by a point system, but it has about 7 different ways to gather these points, and also each item cost a different amount of points. Though saying blah blah yadda yadda once again, I viewed the video testimonials and picture testimonials, in which some mentioned the site name or had the tag shipped with them on hand. Being that there methods seem viable and as a legitimate solution to me not wanting to pay for one of these myself (the prices are downright ridiculous) I’d decided to go with the flow and just see what it was all about.

Each gift is worth a certain amount of points… A PS3 for example is about 40 points. You get points by referring others, signing up to offers (lots of free offers are available, so you don’t necessarily have to pay for anything other than trial charge or shipping on some), or buy buying clicks in hopes that one will join. Needless to say… I joined, for free of course, and within 2 weeks, I was able to complete offers and get enough referrals for my PS3, and within 3 weeks I had enough for 2 of them. I logged in late because I didn’t believe anything would happen, but when I saw all the points I had… whew!
I quickly emailed them and asked if I could order 2, and to my surprise they said YES! I felt like it would be rather stupid if you can gain 20,000 points and only be able to spend 50, ya know? Needless to say, I just receive my PlayStation-3s (PS3s) today and am still [did you notice the S on that?... yeah...] in misbelief. This is probably the best of the sites for getting a free video gaming system, or other products, so if you’ve ever been after one, I STRONGLY suggest you get involved.

Are you on myspace? Send out a notice to ALL your friends and see what happens! Who knows.. you might get your Playstation, Iphone, X-Box 360, Ipod, Wii, Plasma TV, etc. etc. for free with just one mailing!!!

In the techie world the race for supremacy just got hotter with Sony computer Entertainment President Phil Harrison stating, “The Playstation 3 is a computer. We do not need a PC.” And, the news is that the PS3 has reached for new horizons it is not just a game console. Although many tech gurus are rooting for the Xbox360 here are a few reasons why the PS3 may gain an edge.

According to analyst Shawn Milne, even though Xbox360 will get a head start, the PS3 will outsell the Xbox every year after 2006. Bu 2010 the PS3 will according to predictions have sold 23.3 million copies in the US.
1. The PS3 can be used to see movies, play music, and surf the web.

2. The GPU is powerful and fast. The downside is that it is bound to be hard to program.

3. The memory is 256 MB XRD for the cell and 256 MB DDR3 for the GPU.

4. The PS3 has a dual Ethernet, built in wi-fi, Bluetooth, flash memory slots, and blue ray.

5. The PS3 has hardware that is more powerful than that of the Xbox 360 and will be able to produce real to life visuals.

6. The games in PS3 will be stored on Bluray discs which store 54 gigs while game space in the Xbox360 is just 9 gigs.

7. The PS3 will have international appeal and be popular with both foreign game developers and consumers. According to market whispers games on the PS3 are all set to be exciting and different.

8. The PS3 has immense expandability and connectivity options. The compact flash, SD card, memory stick, Bluetooth, USB you name it and the PS3 will say yes please. Designed to accommodate just about everything in the universe.

9. Visionary the PS3 aims for dual screen and 1080p support. The display technology is an eon ahead of any gizmo man has even dreamed of. Imagery will be synonymous with PS3. Imagine playing games like formula 1 racing and Killzone in panoramic splendor.

10. The HD IP camera peripheral or the EyeToy 2 will transmit crystal clear images over the internet as well as feeds over the Intraweb.

What is more the PS3 is designed to be backwards compatible and so you will be able to play games old and new. The PS3 will allow playing of games on the PS1 and PS2 libraries so, even with the latest console you can boot up old favorites like Tobal or Shattered Soldier are relive old times. According to CBSNews.com Tech Analyst, Larry Magid, “The graphics processor in the new Sony PlayStation is pretty impressive. It rendered images during the game that looked almost as if they came from a movie studio.”

PS3 is all set to make dreams reality. Imagine Metal Gear, Warhawk, Tekken, i-8, Gran Turismo, Killzone, and Dante among zillion other mind blowing games all coming alive! Whatever the whispers are about the reality will surface when the PS3 is launched and consumers get first hand experience.

With pros and cons of just about anything imaginable, here are some simple and basic pros and cons regarding gaming consoles. There’s not too many, but there are some which need consideration.

I’ve written previously regarding the pros and cons of individual games consoles but never on the subject as a whole. This, of course is quite different, especially if you’re a newcomer to this field or if you’re considering buying one for family or friends.
The most popular consoles at the time of writing are the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 with the Wii in first place for sales figures at a whopping twenty five million sold in just over eighteen months.

What’s the pros and cons then of games consoles? They can be summed up in just a few actually. I would have to say first the most obvious one of all - they force you to stay on yer bum for hours on end! The exception to this is the Wii where you do actually play the games as if you were really out there in action doing it.

Secondly, the graphics. In todays console world they are just superb and getting better if that be possible. It does need to be said however that the Wii graphics are not quite up to scratch with ps3 and xbox 360 - just a point to bear in mind.

Thirdly, price. Ah yes there’s always a price is there not? Prices for the current consoles are in the region of £175 to £299! To be precise, the £299 beauty is the ps3 at one end with the best selling Wii at around £175 at the other end, while in the middle is the Xbox 360 at around £195.

There are, of course other factors involved but in my opinion these are the main ones to bear in mind - fitness or the lack of it, quality, and last but certainly not least is price.

Bottom, bottom, bottom line is, if quality graphics are of top importance go for the Xbox 360 or ps3, but if fitness and health is your priority then go for the Nintendo Wii - it certainly will help towards your fitness goals.
